As a primary solid-liquid separation unit, the Rotary Drum Filter is designed for small to medium-sized wastewater treatment plants. It ensures the continuous and effective removal of solid suspended matters, such as dross and residues. In various wastewater applications, this filtration process can eliminate 30% to 60% of organic and inorganic suspended solids, thereby significantly reducing the load on downstream treatment stages.

Working Principle

It is a mechanical screening device used in small to medium-sized wastewater treatment plants for pre-treatment. It is designed for the continuous and effective removal of solid suspended matter.

The drum rotates via a drive device, guiding wastewater from the inlet pipe into the filtration tank. As the sewage passes through, solid materials are retained on the screen while filtered water drains through the screen gaps into the collection pool. With continuous rotation of the cylinder, solids adhering to the outer surface of the screen are quickly discharged.

The backwashing system consists of a spray pipeline and nozzles, which direct high-pressure water to efficiently rinse off solids remaining on the sieve. This ensures continuous, clog-free operation. Rotary drum screen is characterized by high efficiency, large capacity, and fine filtration performance.
